Noise Induced Order In Excitable Systems

Punit Parmananda, Physics, Universidad Autonoma del Estado de Morelos, Mexico

We study, experimentally, the interaction of noise with a nonlinear electrochemical system exhibiting excitable dynamics. Both external and internal noise sources are considered. For appropriate noise and system parameters, a variety of interesting and counterintuitive phenomena are observed. For external noise, the inception of numerous well known resonance effects such as Coherence Resonance, Periodic Stochastic Resonance and Aperiodic Stochastic Resonance are observed. Moreover, induction of noise induced order for internal noise is also detected. Finally, control of noise provoked spiking seqeunce is attempted using a delayed feedback strategy.
