Spatial Structure Of Avalanches And Clusters In The Non-Equilibrium Random-Field Ising Model
Yang Liu, Physics, UIUC
We present numerical studies of the spatial structure of avalanches
associated with hysteresis loops, using the zero-temperature
Gaussian random field Ising model. The avalanches that occur in the lower
branch of the hysteresis loop are studied. Two different kinds of
quantities, fractal dimensions and anisotropy measures, are calculated. For
comparison, we also compute those quantities for clusters near the
critical field. Results are also compared with those of the equilibrium
studies.
